The Blue Ridge Parkway is 30 minutes north of Northstar Self Storage. Storage rates in Blowing Rock, Boone, and along the Parkway are premium — resort-town land is expensive. Northstar’s outdoor parking on the Lenoir side of the mountain is a fraction of what you’d pay in Boone. Same RV, same climate for storage (dry, secure, off your driveway), materially less monthly cost.
From Northstar to the closest Parkway entrance at Deep Gap or Blowing Rock is about a 45-minute drive up US-321. From Northstar to the Linville Falls area on the Parkway is a scenic 1.5 hours. You can pull the RV Friday afternoon, be set up at a Parkway campground by dinner.
Northstar’s outdoor parking is laid out for RVs — lane widths, turning radii, and stall dimensions that fit Class A, Class C, and travel trailers without wrestling. A lot of general-purpose storage lots have you backing into spots meant for cars. That’s not us.
Most people don’t use the Parkway November through March. Northstar is where the RV lives all winter — quiet, secure, dry, ready to go the first warm April weekend. Month-to-month terms mean you’re not locked into a year if plans change.
